What is hepatitis C?
Hepatitis C is viral infection that causes inflammation of liver tissue (hepatitis) and over time can lead to scarring (fibrosis) and eventually cirrhosis (end stage liver disease).
How is it contracted?
It is typically contracted from blood to blood transmission. It can be through needles, blood transfusions, and rarely from sexual intercourse or childbirth.
Is there a cure?
Yes, there are number of treatment options that can eradicate the virus for life.
